What we do
Everything we do happens in the loft: insulation, storage, access, and the problems people find when they finally look up there.

Raised boarding turns loft space into usable storage without compressing the insulation underneath, so you keep both the storage and the warmth.

SuperFOIL is a thin multifoil insulation fitted to the rafters. It suits lofts you want to use, low-pitched roofs and spaces where a deep layer of wool on the floor will not work.

We look for the cause of loft mould, treat the affected timbers and roof lining, and set out the ventilation and moisture fixes that deal with the condensation behind it.

Mice and rats in the loft spoil insulation and can chew cables. We find how they are getting in, seal the entry points and replace insulation they have damaged.

A proper loft ladder makes the loft part of the house: measured to your ceiling height and hatch, with the hatch insulated and draught-proofed.

Careful removal of sprayed polyurethane foam from the underside of your roof, a clear look at the timbers underneath, and a properly insulated loft afterwards.

Why us
Simple to arrange and honestly explained, without pressure or permanent “offers”.
We look at your property and loft first, with a survey where one is needed. No obligation.
A clear written recommendation and quotation, setting out the scope, materials and price, before anything is agreed.
If a top-up is all you need, that is what we quote. If ventilation, damp or rodents need sorting first, we explain why.
Insulation to the recommended 270mm, eaves kept clear, hatches insulated, and boards raised so they do not squash the insulation.
Eligible installations may include a written guarantee of up to five years. The terms are set out in your quotation.
Depending on the service and location, work may be completed by The Insulation Company or an approved installation partner.
Coverage
Loft insulation in towns across Essex, from Chelmsford, Colchester and Southend-on-Sea to Basildon, Brentwood, Harlow and Clacton-on-Sea.

Our work
Real jobs from The Insulation Company’s project library, with the town each was done in.
A traditional brick-gable loft found almost completely uninsulated, with the ceiling joists exposed across the full 46m² floor. A full 300mm Knauf glass mineral wool layer was installed from hatch to gable.
London
This loft had a central access walkway serving the water tank and roof services, but little insulation on either side of it. The 41m² floor around it was insulated with 300mm of Knauf glass mineral wool, leaving the boards clear and fully usable.
Reading
A raised central walkway had to be kept for storage and roof access, with no insulation on either side of it. The 35m² floor was insulated on both sides with 300mm of Knauf glass mineral wool, without compressing it under the boards.
Basingstoke
This Basingstoke homeowner had spray foam applied to the underside of their roof four years earlier. We removed it back to bare rafters and felt, cleaned the timbers down and opened the roof space up so it can be inspected again. The timbers had come through those four years in good condition, with no significant damage found.
